Swati embroidery wallhanging from Pakistan, Swat Valley. This embroidery technique is also know als Phulkari. Phul (پهول) means flower and Kari (کارۍ ) means work, so Phulkari means flower work. The stitch creates geometric shapes.
Today, very few people make this work. The embroidery is done with silk thread. Estimated 1980's.
